About NIMUN
What is NIMUN
NUST International Model United Nations (NIMUN) is a prestigious conference held at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad. NIMUN began in 2010, and this year marks the twelfth edition of the conference. Today, it has evolved into one of the largest MUNs in the twin cities and all of Pakistan. With delegates and diplomats pouring in from all over the country and abroad, we take pride in having a network that knows no borders.
Our Mission
We believe in a world of peace and diplomacy, and aspire to promote dialogue between different factions in this rapidly evolving world. We seek to provide a platform where a healthy exchange of ideas takes place and a wide array of issues and their solutions are discussed, much to the true spirit of Model United Nations. Moreover, we wish to create a globe where there's an emphasis on diversity and differences are met with cooperation. Consequently, we strive to foster the next generation of confident leaders, level-headed diplomats and detail-oriented policy makers.
Why NIMUN
Biggest in the Town
NIMUN is one of the most reputable MUNs not just in Islamabad but in Pakistan. It has developed a reputation for hosting senior diplomats, harbouring unique perspectives and facilitating thought-provoking exchanges through its intellectually stimulating committee sessions. Furthermore, its hospitality is unmatched, for it accommodates delegations within NUST hostels, offering a comfortable residence, equipped with necessary facilities. Considering its legacy, standard of debate and accommodation, there is no other MUN that offers what NIMUN does. With succeeding editions surpassing their predecessors, NIMUN continues to evolve into something even bigger, and this edition will be no exception.
Diversity and Inclusivity
Diversity and inclusivity are imperative in solving today's multifaceted issues. At NIMUN, we strive to incorporate people from different backgrounds into the discourses we encourage. In the previous editions of NIMUN, we have hosted international delegations from Indonesia, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and many other countries. Furthermore, we have also enjoyed delegations from numerous cities all across the different provinces and regions of Pakistan, some of them under our Social Responsibility Program.
Social Responsibility Program (SRP)
Organizations have an obligation to society. With this belief in our hearts, we have an extensive Social Responsibility Program sponsoring individuals from underprivileged areas, offering them opportunities and exposure, and having their voices heard. This program is an effort to increase inclusivity driven by a strong will to give representation to the underrepresented and a voice to the unheard.

Over the years, NIMUN has evolved into a hallmark of excellence in academic simulation and event management. Our organizing committee of NUST students remains committed to professionalism, inclusivity, and continuous innovation. Each iteration strengthens NIMUN's role as a space for intellectual growth, cross-cultural connection, and meaningful dialogue.
