The Press Corps is a new addition to the ever growing umbrella of portfolios under NIMUN. The Press Corps will be a simulation committee in which the participants will debate on the ever-changing socio-political landscape in the world while representing certain news and journalism organizations. The global political scenario is one of the most interesting and most important fields in the world of journalism and media. The current political condition in the world is very fragile, with small actions having massive consequences for citizens all over the world. Be it the economic and trade sanctions on various countries in the Middle East such as Iran and Qatar, or the prevailing political conditions in Russia and Ukraine, the world is at a defining bend. The exit of Great Britain from the European Union and the results of the 2016 election in the United States further increase the complexities. On the other hand, social issues have been at a rapid rise over the past few decades. Media is a powerful tool in today’s world through which information is disseminated in the blink of an eye all over the world. Effective utilization of media will not only save innumerable lives, but also strive to make them better than ever before. Press Corps aims to fulfill the NIMUN’18 theme by giving its delegates a realistic experience of the changing landscape in the world of media today.
