National University of Science and Technology

The National University of Sciences and Technology, or NUST, is one of the top-ranked universities of Pakistan. It was established in 1991 to provide STEM education. It has, since then, expanded its curriculum by the addition of business and social sciences departments. With a total of 20 departments and more than 1200 faculty members, over 14000 students are enrolled in the university every year. This includes both national and international students, thereby forming an extremely diverse student body, with students from all over, representing their regions and creating a rich cultural mix that inculcates appreciation for the distinctive contrast that it creates. Majoring in disciplines that range from engineering and medical sciences to management, media studies and economics, these students find a home in the beautifully landscaped campus, friends in the once-strangers, the “maestro-within” in the lecture rooms and laboratories, and the unknown or un-pursued inner capabilities in the many social and academic events. The campus itself is a fully equipped mass of buildings, grounds, hostels and cafeterias, each building with a life and story of its own. The unfairly close SADA and Concordia 1, the far-off SNS and SMME (which has the best “biryani” though), the “NUST’s Monal” Concordia 3, the genteel sophistication of NBS (which offers the best tea on-campus), each school is equipped with training aids and sports are a large part of the student life at NUST.
