The conference is scheduled to be held in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan from January 22nd,

mettle and the
diplomatic skills of the delegates. It presents an opportunity to not only join a groundbreaking
political debate on
global issues but also to interact with delegates from all over the world. NUST has been playing
host to NIMUN for the
past two years and has organized two highly successful MUNs that have set a standard for MUNs across
The theme of NIMUN ’14 will focus on the restructuring and implementation of the Millennium
Development Goals. Millennium
Development Goals, commonly known as the MGDs, are eight international goals that are to be achieved
by the target year
of 2015. The conference would aim on proposing measures that could restructure the MGDs
corresponding to the global
political, social and environmental changes.
If you have what it takes to resolve global
issues through educated
debating, then NIMUN ’14 is the place to be!

the name of NUST
to produce the best from professionals in the country.

NUST MUN History
A wave of raised placards, the anticipation of a motion being passes and the unleashing of the
intellectual war – that is
what an MUN is all about!
The realization that NUST’s international ranking could be used to lay the foundation for subjective
platform came in
2012. It was then that the students and faculty collaborated to come up with the first MUN – NUMUN
Despite being the first of its kind, NUMUN ’12 was an embodiment of perfection in itself. About 40
around 400 students participated from all around the country. From the heated committee sessions
chaired by world class
debaters, to the fun filled social events that took one’s breath away, NUMUN ’12 set the standard
for MUNs across
Pakistan. It was a debating fiesta with mood enlightening entertainment breaks, the breathtaking Red
and a polar night to intensify the serenity of winters.
For the next venture in the MUN streak, the organizing committee aimed at broadening and
diversifying the MUN tradition.
Hence, NUST International Model United Nations – NIMUN 2013 was conceptualized. This second episode
of MUN in NUST was
marked by a distinct selection of committees like PASA, Security Council and numerous others. The
highlight of this
international MUN was the arrival of the delegates from Asia Pacific region. With past experience as
a guide, NIMUN
2013 promised to touch new levels of debating and diplomacy, and it did exactly that.
